A Sweet Swan Birthday Party
Posted on 15 May 2017
Swooping in with grace, class, and style, we threw a Sweet Swan Birthday Party for dear Harlow!
I knew I had to go big or go home for my youngest daughter’s 1st birthday party. I think the Swan is the new Flamingo and I wanted a beautiful and feminine vibe so I thought it a Sweet Swan Birthday Party was the perfect choice. I partnered with Katee Grace Photography to make sure this magical day was captured just perfectly!
There were so many small details that made this party perfect from the edible feathers on the swan cake to the H monogram on the chocolate covered Oreos from Amy Cakes and Sweet Treats to the feather necklace Harlow wore – we wanted it to be special. I made the balloon garland myself but got the best advice from my girls at Bonjour Fete party store in Studio City. I used hundreds of balloons and real flowers to accent it with. One day I will do a balloon garland tutorial for you, but its super easy just time consuming.
I had been looking for a vintage hi-chair to refinish for a 1st birthday party I did in November and I came across this beauty. I easily refinished it with chalk paint that allows you to skip the sanding and priming steps, thank goodness! Then I just spray painted the tips and the bottom of the legs metallic gold! Of course I did!
The kids DJ – DJ Maasha stole the show. We set up sequin table for her with disco balls and a SWAN HARD Harlow sign which had everyone laughing! The kids and adults were jamming out all party long. In my opinion, it's not a success unless people are dancing! And what would a party be without an inflatable SWAN! This party was full of fun!
Flowers and are my jam and I think are really important in tying together all of the elements of a party and Earthbaby Flowers nailed it. She even custom painted rose gold ombre vases for me. I die! The party goods matched the flowers perfectly with iridescent, pink and gold plates and pink dipped silverware from Bonjour Fete. They have everything at this store. We got Harlow's feather headdress there as well and the feather garlands.
We were lucky enough to have a custom made kids table made especially for us all the way from Houston, Texas from The Iman Project. There were so many sweet details that went into this party and so many amazing vendors that helped make this party vision come true.
The guests walked away with the most gorgeous custom made favors from DonLaBella. You can find her on Instagram but her attention to detail is beyond.
Minted put the finishing touches on the event by providing these beautiful rose gold (which everyone knows is my favorite) thank you cards. They are always my go to for invites, thank you cards and special gifts. They work with independent artists so there are so many styles to choose from.
