Bottle and Heels (and a dash of Bashery)
Posted on 01 August 2016
Motherhood is one of the greatest joys that I have ever experienced, and a gift I'm grateful for every single day. However, motherhood is equally challenging, and can leave even the most organized and prepared mom feeling like a total failure.
When Tammin Sursok approached me with her brainchild Bottle and Heels, a blog by mom and for moms (but one that keeps it real), I was immediately excited. The only downside, was that I had given birth 5 weeks earlier, and was more than a little nervous about my ability to create something amazing. But that's the thing about working moms - we tend to see in others, what they don't see in themselves. Tammin and her team were so encouraging and uplifting, that I couldn't say no.
Bashery was asked to style the kids area for the party; all we needed to do was to make it a "magical tribal garden environment" that corresponded with a plethora of other vendors and their own unique ideas of what a "magical tribal garden party" was. Well, ok!
We styled the area with poufs, rugs, and some amazing hand made dream catchers. I feel like nothing says "desert princess" quite like a billowy dream catcher. Something about the softness of the fabric is really relaxing to me.
We added a bit of sparkle with a hand painted leaf garland, and the prettiest dream sign that I ever did see. The kids loved it; if you look closely at the picture below, maybe you can spy the sweetest tiny tent patron at the party.
By the way. Have you ever tried to party with a bunch of 5 - going on -17 year olds? It's not for the faint of heart I tell ya. Those kids know how to bring it!
My assistant Nattie had to bring her 9 month old with her as well, so the two of us took turns running to the back in order to feed our babes. Truly, moms making it happen.
It was such a pleasure working with Tammin and the wonderful people of Pop Your Shop and The Loft Entertainment. Any time I get an opportunity to work with women who do it all - motherhood, business, family, and everything else that comes their way, I'm thrilled. After all, behind every successful woman, is a tribe of successful women who have her back. Until next time,
